Frequently Asked Questions

Why would someone use this platform?

Our platform caters to situations requiring the distribution of curated knowledge content through various digital channels. It delivers a seamless and uniform experience across all user interfaces, allowing access to content anytime, anywhere. This enhances the convenience and reach of digital content. Typical applications include product owner manuals, guides, training modules, educational courses, lessons, and knowledge bases.

Are all features production-ready?

While most of the features have been developed and tested in non-production environments, their readiness for production depends on specific requirements. For instance, the AndroidAutomotive Operating System (AAOS) app has undergone testing on an emulator. However, due to the rapid evolution of AAOS, we need to continuously update this feature. For full production readiness, it requires testing on actual hardware, further refinement, and finalization. This approach allows us to ensure that each feature meets the necessary standards and performs optimally in a production setting.

Is this platform intended to replace tools like Google Docs or Notion?

Knidal is not meant to replace documentation or note-taking tools such as Google Docs orNotion. While those platforms are excellent for creating and sharing documents within smaller teams or for personal use, Knidal specializes in the management and delivery of curated knowledge content. Our platform is designed for situations where the primary objective is the widespread consumption of content, particularly when such content has a medium to high shelf life. This makes Knidal ideal for distributing information that remains relevant over longer periods and needs to reach a broad audience effectively, with the consumption of this knowledge being the central focus.

What does the implementation process involve?

The implementation of our product follows a structured process, starting with the completion of the implementation design. The key steps include:

1. Account Setup: We begin by creating an account, defining account owners, applying branding, and configuring other necessary settings.
2. Ingest Initial Content: If assistance is required for initial content seeding, our team will take content in Markdown format to create all the necessary modules.

After the initial seeding of content, your content team will have the opportunity to further refine and update the content as needed. When you are ready to go live, we provide support for the initial publication of the apps, ensuring a smooth launch. This process ensures your platform is set up to your specifications and ready for your audience.

What does "Always Available Experience" mean?

The term "Always Available Experience" refers to our apps' consistent and reliable functionality, similar to the accessibility of PDFs and printed materials that operate wherever you are. This ensures our apps function seamlessly, whether you're online or offline, underwater in a submarine, on a ship in the middle of the ocean, aboard a spaceship, or flying in a plane.

How do I import existing knowledge content into the Knidal platform?

Use our automated ingestion system to import content. Provide your content in Markdown format, and we'll assist you during the implementation phase to ensure all your existing content is seamlessly integrated into our platform. After import, you can easily update your content using our no-code CMS.

What is the timeline for creating apps from existing content?

The process to transform existing content into apps is swift, especially if the content is pre-formatted in markdown and the delivery structure is already established. Under these conditions, content ingestion is completed in less than an hour, and the apps become available within a day. Generally, depending on the complexity and preparation of the content, the entire process ranges from 2 to 10 working days to ensure everything is set up correctly and efficiently.

What is an "Account"?

An "Account" represents the highest organizational structure within our platform. It serves as the foundational entity within which all modules are created and managed. Users requiring access to both account-wide and private modules must be members of the account. Administrators manage users, modules, and settings at the account level. Typically, an account is synonymous with an organization, though an organization can have multiple accounts. This structure ensures a streamlined and secure way to administer content and user access.

What are "Hub" modules?

Within the Knidal platform, we distinguish between two types of knowledge modules: Single and Hub. Single modules are the building blocks that contain specific knowledge content. Hub modules, on the other hand, serve as collections of Single modules. For example, a manufacturer of home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners would have separate manuals for each product model, each represented by a Single module on our platform. These Single modules can be grouped into a Hub module, allowing for organized, categorical publication. This way, all related manuals are conveniently accessible in one location.
